THE AIMS OF THE PROJECT

temp’óra aims to encourage a better understanding between the cultures in the world by developing and organizing events dedicated to the music of today.

The approach :

1) temp’óra proposes to create a central network to bring together actors and sponsors of written and improvised music of the contemporary music community. The aim is to promote interaction of musicians and composers, and exchange written, visual or audio documents.

2) To begin with, temp’óra aims at bringing together performers, improvisers and composers to start artistic projects in common. These projects would encourage the exchange of views creating greater understanding of cultures across the world.

3) temp’óra proposes to monitor the exchanges and act as a mediator between groups by receiving propositions and helping in the realization of the projects regardless of the social, political and economical barriers of the local actors.

4) temp’óra also initiates new projects of its own.

5) temp’óra encourages the selected ensembles to carry out educational actions for the audience : before or after the performance a presentation could be made introducing the composers and telling about the compositions and the preparation the concert entailed.

6) The temp’óra project also intends to gradually attract the various means of artistic expression that can highlight the cultural specificities of each country (literature, fine arts, dance, cinema) as long as they do not promote identity-related ideologies.

7) temp’óra is intent on promoting all the existing websites, institutions, centres and associations devoted to supporting today’s music.

8) temp’óra will create and update regularly a professional website with complete information about actors of contemporary music in the world.

MEMBERSHIP REQUIREMENTS

Any physical or moral person involved in composing, performing or spreading today’s music can become founding member of temp’óra. To become a member, it is required to fill in a membership form and pay a lifetime membership fee of €50 minimum for a physical person or €100 minimum for a moral person. This sum may be revised at the annual general assembly of the NPO.

May then become members :

- composers of acoustic or electro-acoustic contemporary music

- music soloists, improvisers, ensembles, orchestras and choirs respecting these Criteria :

- a professional level of performance
- a thorough involvement in the music of our time with no aesthetic prejudices
- a dynamic artistic policy and activity to promote composers of the country of residence
- the agreement to name temp’óra on programmes and other publications covering the musical events.

Within the choice of artistic projects special attention will be given to recently created ensembles with little aid from public or private institutions as well as ensembles wishing to present composers who are little known or unknown on the international scene. Essentially, the projects proposed by temp’óra will consist of music by composers of the nation where the music ensemble resides.

- Any actor concerned with the music of today after the advice of the NPO committee.

temp’óra members have access by way of a password to information on the temp’óra website. This includes :

- the names of the members of temp’óra
- the list of all the actors taking part in the musical scene listed by temp’óra
- the current artistic projects and those planned within the temp’óra programme
- exchange programmes promoted by the Board of temp’óra
- requests for projects country by country

As members, composers are invited to upload their non downloadable scores to the temp’óra website.

In addition, members can be assured of technical and moral support for their projects as long as they abide by artistic standards of the NPO.
